The Purpose of a Pre-Placement Physical
The Trust has long believed in the importance of assuring Members that prospective employees are physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job for which they are being considered. To achieve this goal, The Trust recommends that Members conduct Pre-Placement Physicals as part of the hiring process for categorized "high-risk" positions.
Pre-Placement Physicals help employers assess baseline medical conditions that may affect an employee's ability to safely perform their written job duties and determine if employees can perform the essential physical functions of the job. A copy of The Trust's Pre-Placement Medical Exam Request Form should accompany the employee to the medical facility.
An employee's inability to properly perform their written job function substantially increases the risk of injury not only to themselves, but they also pose risks to co-workers and the people your entity serves. Click below to view a copy of The Trust's Pre-Placement Physical Program Brochure.
