The Trust publishes a periodic newsletter and occasional risk management bulletins containing safety tips, summaries of recent lawsuits, Member current events, risk management techniques, and other general insurance-related items to help lower risk and prevent loss.
Now in its 17th year, The Trust’s WorkSmart21 Program continues to help Members make strides to reduce workers’ compensation claims activity, and positively impact their safety culture. Members are required to participate in WorkSmart21 if their current Policy Year Experience Modifier is 1.25 or higher. For the current Policy Year, 16 Member entities are participating in the Program.
Effective July 1, 2017, The Trust’s Health Matters Program is officially a standalone wellness program, operating independently from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI). This change allows Health Matters more flexibility to provide customized and comprehensive plans to help each Member meet their specific needs. It has also provided The Trust with the opportunity to develop its own customized Health Matters Wellness Portal.
Two new facilities are now available to Members seeking to send perspective employees for Pre-Placement Physicals; Atmed, 1524 Atwood Ave, Johnston, RI and Atmed, 5750 Post Road, East Greenwich, RI. The Trust has worked closely with each facility to ensure that they are able to perform comprehensive and effective physical examinations for Members of The Trust’s Workers’ Compensation Program.
