2016 Safety Enhancement Grant Winners

 

Ashaway Free Library
The grant award will be used to purchase and upgrade their portable fire extinguishers to better protect the library in the event of a fire.

Town of Barrington
The Library will use their grant funds to install a panic button which will be directly connected to the Police Department Dispatch Center.

Town of Bristol
The fire department will use their grant funds to purchase six lift assist strap harnesses for use in lifting patients.

Burrillville School Department
The Trust grant will be used to purchase height adjustable sit/stand desk computer risers for staff.

City of Central Falls
The police department will use their grant funds to purchase two way radios for use in the schools. 

Central Falls School District
Their Trust grant funds will be used to purchase a Philips Heart Start on-site defibrillator for the Middle School.

Coventry Public Schools
The school department will use their grant funds to purchase four portable radios for staff use.

Town of Coventry
The Town will use the award to purchase access control key fobs and door locks for Town Hall.

Foster-Glocester School Department
Their grant will be used to purchase and install security cameras to enhance the safety of the employees and staff.

Town of Glocester
Their Trust grant funds will be used to install LED Flood Light Fixtures at the Recycling Center at the Town’s Transfer Station.

Hope Library
The Trust grant will be used to purchase a new snow blower, ensuring a safer walkway for visitors and staff.

The Libraries of Foster
The Libraries will use their grant funds to purchase a new handrail for the entrance to the library, new handrail for the walkway, resetting the historic front steps and repairs to the outdoor lighting.

Lincoln Public Schools
The School District will use the grant funds to purchase six heavy duty salt spreaders to make their walkways safer for staff, students and visitors.  

Little Compton School Department
Their Trust grant funds will be used to purchase and install a computerized Visitor Management System.

Town of Narragansett
The grant funds will be used by the DPW Department to purchase three bench top chemical safety storage cabinets.  

Town of Narragansett
Their grant will be used to purchase two confined space body harnesses, lanyards and hearing protection and headphones for use by staff in confined spaces.

Town of New Shoreham
The Town will use their grant funds to purchase boat fenders, several life jackets and other safety equipment for use by the Harbormaster and Crew.

Northern Rhode Island Collaborative
The Collaborative will use their grant funds to purchase a 15-foot-long ceiling lift for safer student transfer.

Town of North Kingstown
The grant award will be used to purchase traffic cones and pedestrian barriers to help police officers control and direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

North Smithfield School Department
The North Smithfield School Department will use their funds to purchase a new electrical lock out tag out safety center for worker safety around energized equipment.

Pawtucket Water Supply Board
They will use their grant to purchase a portable gas multi detector for employee safety while in confined spaces.

Town of Portsmouth
Their grant will assist in repositioning the cameras at the Town’s transfer station, to better monitor for slips, trips and falls. 

Scituate School Department
The grant will be used to hire Precision Concrete Cutting to help repair concrete trip hazards.

Town of Smithfield
The Town’s grant will be used to install cameras in both the Town Clerk and Tax Collector’s offices.

South Kingstown School Department
The grant funds will be used to purchase a Hurricone cordless floor dryer which will reduce slips, trips and falls by staff and visitors.

Town of South Kingstown
Their grant will be used to purchase load bearing vests for their police officers.

Town of Tiverton
The Town’s grant will be used to purchase a spill containment system for oil drums.

City of Warwick
The Trust grant will be used by the Sewer Authority to purchase and install ADS ECHO Monitor sewer backup prevention software.

Warwick Public Schools
Their grant funds will be used to purchase a pesticide storage cabinet.

Town of West Greenwich
Their grant will be used to purchase 24 lighted, pop up and collapsible cones for storm and night work. 

West Warwick Public Schools
Their grant funds will be used to purchase two Posilok safety belts which will help secure hinged basketball backstops from falling.

West Warwick Regional Wastewater Facility
Their grant funds will be used to purchase a Philips HeartStart OnSite AED for staff and visitor use.

Town of West Warwick
