Trust Completes Use of Force Policy Update with Help of Law Enforcement Community

New OSHA Public Sector Safety & Health Fundamentals Program

In partnership with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Training Institute Education Center at Keene State College, The Trust is now offering a first-of-its kind certificate program to Member employees titled Public Sector Safety and Health Fundamentals Certificate Program (General Industry). The Program is designed to help participants broaden their safety expertise, improve safe work practices, increase safety hazard awareness, comply with OSHA standards, and be proactive in today’s safety culture.   Read More

Now Accepting Applications for 30th Anniversary Scholarship & Safety Grant Programs

In celebration of our 30th Year Anniversary, The Trust is excited to announce that we will be accepting applications for our 2016-2017 Safety Enhancement Grant and Scholarship Program, and awarding a total of $30,000 in Safety Enhancement Grants and $10,000 in scholarships. These programs provide safety grants and educational opportunities to Trust Members.   Read More

Health Matters Forges Ahead with Great Success

The Trust is thrilled at the response its Members have had to its recently established Health Matters wellness program. To date, 62% of Health Pool Members are participating in the program and The Trust expects that number to increase to at least 70% participation by the end of the Fiscal Year.   Read More

Participation Continues to Grow in Trust OPEB Funding Program

Rhode Island municipalities and school districts are making great strides to fund their OPEB liabilities through The Trust’s OPEB Funding Program. The Program, in existence for less than 10 months, now has 17 participating Members who have contributed nearly $25 million toward their OPEB liabilities. The Trust is currently working with seven other communities regarding membership in the OPEB Funding Program, as well.   Read More
